RMS Titanic set sail from Southampton at noon on 10 April
1912, only to end her maiden voyage so tragically less than
five days later. Discover the local story of how this ill-fated
liner affected so may lives; crew that 'missed the boat';
passengers that were saved.

the airport or cruise terminal here is an idea of what to

- Discover Oxford Street, once the favourite haunt of
Officers & crew, now home to Southampton's cosmopolitan
bars & restaurants.
- Marvel at the magnificent South Western Hotel, only
first class passengers allowed here, special treatment
for a few millionaires.
- Drive into the Docks from where she sailed, then past
the Head Office of the White Star Line - 549 crew from
Southampton - few came home.
- Imagine the scene around the Atlantic Hotel, 90 years
ago the roughest part of town, for 3rd class or steerage
passengers 6 pubs all in a row.
- See Holyrood Church and the Memorial to fireman, stewards
& crew.
- Finally the park and a tribute to the Musicians who
continued to play and the engineers who failed to keep
the water at bay.
